Q: Why do I receive an administrator error when I try to install/upgrade Pearson VUE’s software applications?

A: In order to upgrade or install our applications, the user currently logged in to the workstation, must have local administrator rights for that workstation.

When your technical staff installs the operating system on your computer, by default, there are specific security settings associated with the workstation. Security settings include an Administrator, local to the workstation, and various other default groups. Members of the Administrator group can include individuals or a group of people. Administrators can perform any type of computer management tasks on the workstation.

Contact your MIS group or help desk for more information.
